Eight plants under SCG Chemicals awarded carbon footprint certificates reinforcing their status as Thailand’s first eco industry factories.

Mr. Somchai Wangwattanapanich, Vice President – Operations, SCG Chemicals (6th from left) along with management of eight SCG Chemicals plants received “Carbon Footprint” certificates recognizing their efforts on the corporate, product, and labeling levels at the “United to Reduce Global Warming 2016” event. SCG Chemicals subsidiary companies that won the awards were: Thai MMA Company Limited, Thai Plastic and Chemicals Public Company Limited, Nawa Plastic Industries Company Limited, Siam Stabilizers and Chemicals Company Limited, Grand Siam Composites Company Limited, Thai MFC Company Limited, Thai Polyethylene Company Limited, and Siam Mitsui PTA Company Limited. This marks an important milestone in adopting innovation to preserve the environment and creating a sustainable community. The awards reinforce SCG Chemicals’ leadership as Thailand’s first eco industry factories. SCG Chemicals has registered 272 Carbon Footprint products, and 27 products with global warming reduction labels.

The corporate carbon footprint certificate presenting ceremony was held by the Thailand Greenhouse Gas Management Organization (Public Organization) to recognize companies and stakeholders who help to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, which benefit Thailand and the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, as the initiatives help to reduce the country’s overall greenhouse gas emissions.
